Return Policy

Dis-Chem Baby City Returns, Refunds & Cancellations Policy

We aim to ensure your complete satisfaction with every purchase. Please review the policy below to understand your rights and responsibilities regarding returns, refunds, and cancellations.

1. General Returns (within 14 Days)

You may return an item for a credit, refund, exchange or replacement, provided:

You present the original tax invoice/till slip as proof of purchase;
The item is returned within 14 days of purchase;
The product has not expired;
The product and packaging are undamaged and untampered;
The item is a returnable product (some items are legally non-returnable for hygiene or health reasons).

Delivery Policy

Delivery

Baby City delivers online orders 7 days a week in main metropolitan areas between 8h00 and 18h00 and all other deliveries will occur Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 17:00.
Deliveries will usually occur within 5 working days in main metropolitan areas from when your order has been placed and paid for. Baby City reserves the right to change these delivery lead times.
Please note that lead times for peak shopping periods (i.e religious holidays, Black Friday etc.) may be delayed and we will seek to complete deliveries within 4-10 working days

1. General Better Rewards Programme T&Cs

The Dis-Chem Loyalty Programme, known as "Better Rewards" ("Better Rewards Programme") is operated by Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited (“Dis-Chem”, “we”, “us” or “our”). The physical or virtual Better Rewards Programme card (“Better Rewards Card”) issued by us remains our property at all times. We may decline, issue and withdraw any Better Rewards Card or any benefit, reward, discount or Partner reward accumulated at any time under a Better Rewards Card. We may change the conditions of operation of the Better Rewards Card at any time. These Better Rewards Programme Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs”) shall apply where you are a Dis-Chem customer and/or a Better Rewards Programme member (“customer”, “you” or “your”).

The Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (“PAIA” / “the Act”) gives effect to section 32 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa 1996, which provides that everyone has the right of access to information. Section 51 of the Act requires that all private bodies (as Dis-Chem is defined) prepare and make available a manual, to the public regarding the procedure which the public must follow, when submitting a request to access the private bodies’ records.

DIS-CHEM BABY & ME™ PARENTING PROGRAMME TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The Dis-Chem Parent & Baby programme known as the “Dis-Chem Baby & Me™ Parenting Programme”, is operated by Dis-Chem.
The Dis-Chem Baby & Me™ Parenting programme is open to parents who are expecting and those with children up to the age of 36 months.
To register for the Dis-Chem Baby & Me™ Parenting programme download the Dis-Chem App and register by selecting the Baby & Me™ Parenting programme tile to activate your Dis-Chem Baby & Me™ Parenting programme.
The following benefits will apply to members who register for the Dis-Chem Baby & Me™ Parenting programme via the Dis-Chem App:
- A personalised timeline packed with videos, articles and more guiding you through each stage of your pregnancy journey and baby’s development.
- A personal calendar allowing you to document necessary time-sensitive notes and any upcoming appointments.
- Direct clinic bookings to our network of specialised mom and baby clinics.
- User-friendly tracking tools, such as kick counts, blood pressure, vaccinations, breastfeeding and more.

- Free Baby Bag filled with baby essentials as per conditions below.
In order to qualify for a baby bag, proof of pregnancy or baby’s birth may be requested and the following documentation will be acceptable:
- A stamped letter from your Doctor, Clinic or healthcare provider
- A medical sonar, displaying the member’s name and due date;
- Your child’s birth certificate;
- Adoption/surrogacy papers;
- Alternatively book an appointment with the Dis-Chem Clinic Sister for a basic antenatal screening; and
- In the case of multiple births, please provide the supporting documentation to indicate the number of expected babies.
Members who are not expecting may not apply for the Dis-Chem Baby & Me™ Parenting programme on behalf of another member/person in order to receive a bag for said member/person.
The member registered for the Baby & MeTM Parenting programme must be an active Dis-Chem App user, shop at Dis-Chem Pharmacies or Dis-Chem Baby City stores, swipe the Better Rewards card associated to the registered member’s profile and spend a minimum of R1000 or more on qualifying baby products from their join date to the Dis Chem Parent & Baby programme, in order to qualify for the baby bag.
The Better Rewards card number associated to the profile of the member registered for the Baby & MeTM Parenting programme can be found under the “Benefit” option on the Dis-Chem Mobile App.
Contents and value of the Baby Bag may vary from time to time.
We will notify you through our App to collect your bag.
If the expecting member is not able to collect the baby bag, a representative may be nominated to collect the bag on the member’s behalf, provided that the collecting person shall bring in the members Better Rewards card and a copy of the expecting member’s identity document as well as the collecting person’s own positive identification.
Baby bags not collected within 6 (six) weeks of the expected due date will be forfeited by the member and may only be reissued at the discretion of Dis-Chem.
Only members whose child is less than 6 (six) months old will qualify to receive the baby bag.
Only 1 (one) baby bag per expected child of an expecting member, qualifying for a baby bag under these terms will be issued.
Items excluded from earning rewards include, but are not limited to:
- Baby formula and bottle-feeding accessories including teats, feeding cups with spouts, and straws, as prohibited by legislation;
- WiCode payments, gift card and loyalty card redemptions;
- Plastic bags;
- Prescription medication any item processed on script copy;
- Scheduled over the counter medications (OTC);
